The Brentwood Centre Arena Theatre

Sophisticated Entertainment Ltd are delighted to announce they will be Proudly Producing "Beauty & The Beast Pantomime" in partnership with Everyone Active for Brentwood's FIRST EVER Resident Pantomime for Christmas 2025 into 2026

Rehearsals will commence 3rd November 2025

Tech week 1st week of December 2025

Press Night - 10th December 2025

Shows run 11th December - 4th January 2026

All rehearsals & Shows will be at The Brentwood Centre Arena Theatre

We are holding auditions for the following Cast:

Principal Leads

*Please note you must be a minimum of 18 years to Audition*

Invite Only Auditions - Monday 30th June 9am - 4:30pm

Deadline for applications 11th June 2025

Invited performers will be given a short monologue / script extract from the show fitting to the Character they are being seen for, you will also need to prepare a verse and a chorus of a song of your choice which you feel fitting to your character style, further information for this will be sent to invited performers.

Princess Identifying Female Lead

Princess style leading lady with a Sophisticated edge, a triple threat performer with a strong skill set across Vocal, Dance & Acting

Strong Vocalist (Soprano or Alto)

This role will require you to be a strong mover if not dancer

Must have great comic timing and a leading lady presence

Character traits: Elegance, full of class with a beautiful kind nature and an edge of innocence.

Prince / Beast Identifying Male Lead

Traditional Pantomime Prince, whom with his air of arrogance gets cursed into a Beast, a triple threat performer with a strong skill set across Vocal, Dance & Acting

Strong Vocalist (Tenor)

This role will require you to be a strong mover if not dancer

Character traits: Confident, slightly arrogant, who wants to break the curse and be loved, has a hidden soft / caring nature

Fairy / Narrator

A beautiful story teller with a kind soft nature, must have the ability to command an audience and have a comedic flair, to be able to perform in an Essex accent is a bonus!

Strong Soprano Vocalist with Excellent acting / story telling skills, slightly quirky yet traditional fairy god mother Character

Character traits: Comedic edge, Essex flair, Fairy god mother like, Motherly, loving nature, the saviour of the day!

Identifying Male Villain

A Character who is a hit with the ladies, very sure of himself, he is the leader of the pack trying to win the attention of our Principal lead female throughout the story, This Character must have a Sophisticated style, he is cool & popular and will do everything in his power to sleigh the Beast!

Strong Vocalist (Tenor or Baritone)

Must be a great mover and ability to command an audience!

Character traits: Confident, sure of himself, comedic edge, popular, flirtatious and slightly outrageous!

Comic 1 - Identifying Male or Female

A well spoken Character who looks after the castle along with comic side kick number 2

This Character is the brains behind the comedy duo, very posh and well to do, Despite being a comic he/she is very serious, demanding and in control yet with these traits the comedy comes to life!

Must have excellent comedic timing and the ability to sing and move well, must be super engaging with the audience and encouraging interactions

Character traits: Posh, well spoken, in charge, slightly stressed, castle supervisor, whom by the end of the show becomes slightly softer, a traditional pantomime comic with a dry sense of humour!

Comic 2 - Identifying Male or Female

A traditional Pantomime Dame type Character, full of humour and comedic timing, loves to laugh at own jokes, The fun character of the castle, always trying to bring the place alive!

Must have a strong vocal belt for solo song and great Character acting skills, a good mover with excellent acting abilities

A character which the audience will love from start to end

Character traits: A traditional Pantomime Dame, who everyone loves, Hilarious, Warm, Friendly & Funny with a cheeky flair!

We are looking for Male & Female Identifying Professional Dancers for our Beauty & The Beast Ensemble Cast

Trained Dancers specialising in Jazz, Ballet, Tap & Commercial Styles

(If you do not have strengths in all fields please do still attend the audition)

Must be confident in partner work, Full of energy performers with a Pantomime flair!

On the day of the audition you will perform multiple short combinations of styles under the direction of our Choreographer.

Please prepare a verse & a chorus of a song of your choice

(on a device such as a phone / laptop / iPad)

Those who we keep from first cuts may be required to sing

Please bring all your dance shoes with you and wear comfortable / dance attire.

We are looking for Male & Female Senior Young Company Cast for our Beauty & The Beast Ensemble Cast

* You must be between the ages of 14 years to 17 years (throughout the performance) to Audition

* You must attend a Stage School / Dance School / Theatre School or have sufficient training in the arts

*You must have a great skill set in Singing, Dancing & Acting

*You must be confident & full of energy, and remember to have Panto flair in your performance!

*Parents are not permitted to watch at the Audition, however you can wait in the cafe outside the Audition studio

*We will have a team of licensed chaperones looking after the performers on the day and all staff are enhanced DBS certified

*We will be filming our casting to assist us in making our selections, If you do not wish for your child to be filmed / photographed please make this known upon registration to one of our Chaperones who will advise our panel.

On the day of the Audition our Company Choreographer will teach out 2 combinations, one of a Jazz technique style and one of a more Musical Theatre style piece, Everyone will learn this as a group before we split into smaller groups for the audition itself.

You do not need to learn any vocal materials for this Audition

We may wish to see some corner work, tricks, any special skills you may have, this will be down to the discretion of our Choreogrpaher on the day.

Please ensure you have correct dance wear on for the Audition, Jazz Shoes and suitable dance clothing, we do not permit any jewellery whilst auditioning, Don't forget a drink of water!
